I think today showed his genuine personality. He was choked up immediately after the game in his first interview. His eyes were watery and he looked like a guy that, in his own words, was “living his dream”. I think he sees his opportunity here in Minnesota as a serious chance to be what he’s always wanted to be. I think he knows he has the most freedom to coach things his way here. He’s basically got the keys to the castle here, and I think he knows any move for him to a program that would grant him this much freedom would be either a lateral or backwards move. He’s all about seeing these young men mature and contribute on and off the field. He seems to derive most of his happiness from seeing his players succeed. I think he’s all in with the Gophers for the long haul. I also don’t believe the money means as much to him as most of the people in the same profession. I could be wrong obviously. But if this is all smoke and mirrors, then he’s one of the best actors I’ve ever seen and I’d say he should give Hollywood a shot.PJ Fleck was emotional about Tyler Johnson and the other upperclassmen during the post game conference. He is all about the kids.
