Atlantic LB Jephete Matilus committed to Gophs, now listening to Kansas

we need a coach to keep these recruits!!!

Yeah, it's definitely starting to worry me a bit. I don't think people need to be in panic mode, but this is a HUGE time of year for recruiting (3 week window where face to face contact is allowed). No head coach...no assistants working the phones or living rooms...commits being "wooed" by others. Definitely not good.

The Gophers have not had a coach for a long time now. It actually concerns me that we haven't heard more about kids looking around or actually committing to other schools. It doesn't seem like other schools have exactly jumped on the opportunity to go after a lot these kids.

It's hard to really say for sure. I would bet most recruits would wait to see who our head coach will be.

I know that the calls are coming to these recruits! It is just a matter of time before they jump ship. I don't think that they will wait if the process goes on for much longer!

Kansas, really?? I've said this before, but why would anyone (with a scholarship offer to a BigTen, Pac10, SEC, etc school) go to a Big12 school other than UT or OU? I would be really concerned about ISU, KU, KSU, OSU, Mizzou, Baylor, TTU, etc. being left without a conference within 2 -4 years. Furthermore, if the eminent demise of the Big12 (as precipitated by UT) does come to fruition and this is currently hampering recruiting, some of these coaches should jump ship now. ie - Gary Pinkel at Mizzou.
