Picked a copy of the Athlon Sports College Basketball Preview. Here is their prediction for the Big Ten race.

1. Michigan State
2. Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Wisconsin
5. Indiana
6. Iowa
7. Purdue
8. Illinois
9. Minnesota
10. Penn State
11. Northwestern
12. Nebraska

Do you agree?

Looks reasonable except that I would not have Northwestern at #11... and...

Thoughts:
OSU & MSU as top 2 teams.
#3-#6 can be debated (Mich, Wisc, I4, Iowa)
#7-#10 can be debated (Minn, Northwestern, Ill., Purdue) - will zero, one or two make tourney?
#11 Penn State
#12 Nebraska

Still need to look at things, but I think I may be higher on Minnesota and Northwestern than I am Illinois and Purdue...

My rank:

1. Michigan St
2. Michigan
3. Ohio St
4. Iowa
5. Wisconsin
6. Indiana
7. Illinois
8. Purdue
9. Minnesota
10. Northwestern
11. Penn ST
12. Nebraska

I don't see Nebraska finishing last. I'll put any sum of money down that they don't.

BG, considering the argumentative history of this board, you might want to clarify if "last place" means last place (alone in 12th place), or if "tying for last but getting the #11 seed" counts as finishing 11th.

Tongue in cheek, of course. I know that was a touchy subject when all the pro/con Tubby arguments were going on.

I think Wisky and MSU are a bit overrated here. Bo loses Berggren, Evans, and Brueser on the interior accounting for 27.5 pts and nearly 20 rebs per game. He's probably going to rely on Kaminsky, Bohannon, and Hayes (a freshman) to pick up the slack. Unless Hayes blows up, Bo has to be concerned about the inside game. Dekker may have to score 20 pts or more per game and grab around six rebs as well. They also needed quite a bit of luck last year to finish 4th. I don't think they will be so lucky in the close games.

Izzo's program seems to be in a bit of disarray. He's losing the recruiting battles to Big Blue. Depth will be a big issue and may wane at the end of the season. After this year, Sparty might be in the lower half of the B1G for a while.

Here's how I see it:

1. Indiana
2. The Ohio State
3. Michigan
4. Michigan St
5. Illinois
6. Wisconsin
7. Iowa
8. Purdue
9. Gophers
10. Northwestern
11. Nebraska
12. Penn State

really going to pick UW 6th ! Ryan has never finished worse then 4th. 2nd all time winning percentage in conference history. shocked if they are worse then 3rd.

If you're including tied for last (sounds like you're confident ?) then I'm in.

My buddy Clem's Gophers has disappeared from this site.. he still owes a charity of my choosing for my correct assertion that the Gophers would not finish in the top 5 of the Big Ten last year.
