Though from the headline on rivals sounds like he had a good visit (don't subscribe), at the same time I have trouble believing he had a decision changing visit. Hope I am wrong on that.

I have no idea how much to believe in Rivals, but couple of questions for the Rivals, recruiting veterans -

I know stars don't mean much, but I've read over and over again that having big offers raises the players star rating. Why is Jenkins only a 3 star with those kinds of offers?

Bill Miller has a pretty impressive coaching resume - How is he as a recruiter?

Thanks!!

At least we can know Kill will go for players that the top schools are interested in. Hope he keeps plugging away. I think that is one thing that Brew did have going for him and did make some headway on. He was willing to battle for some of the players.

He missed his junior season due to academics. I believe he was all conference as a sophomore.

It was reported somewhere, can't remember where, but he even said that he enjoyed the cold weather up here. Positive sign.

Coach Kill realizes that he must go after the big time players.
He may not get a lot of them now but eventually he will.
This was one of the few unknowns i had about Coach Kill.
Question answered.

Your question that has been answered is that he'll go after top guys? Everyone throws out offers to top guys, that is meaningless. He did get a good linebacker with questionable academics (according to posts above) to visit, which is something. Brewster got those same sort of players (decent skill, not so decent school side) to visit and even some to commit. Didn't really work out for him. That doesn't mean Kill can't or won't. Just means, in my mind, that recruiting ability is still a very open question...

Bill Miller is a very good recruiter. Namely in Florida, Kansas and the Kansas JUCO system. When dealing with Kansas, don't be surprised to see the Gophers sniff around there much harder than just Kansas City (Topeka, Wichita and other big communities).

all of the quotes in his rivals interview seem to make Minnesota his #1, but he still has 3 more visits left with upper tier schools so we definitely have competition and I would be very impressed if Kill and Miller could get this guy to sign.

Florida St. is still the favorite. He said some nice things but I don't understand how you think we are in the #1 position.

that one made me chuckle...thanks!

Haha big communities in Kansas means 15,000-50,000. :D Of course KC metro is 2.5 million, Lawrence 90,000, Manhattan over 50,000, Wichita around 400,000 and Topeka 150,000 plus.

My guess is Florida State, according to some of their fans Arrington might be better than Steward.. who is a 5 star. The academic issues and missing his junior season are reason for him only being a 3 star.

He would be a great get, but obviously he will go to FSU if Steward commits elsewhere. I like what he said about us, but if he is questionable academically, WVA has a good chance. They can get a lot of people into school that would not in Big Ten.

On a side note, Kill is doing a great job getting in late on some of these guys. Sounds like we could add some quality guys late. Some very quality guys.

I noticed Arrington isnt high on FSU anymore and everybody is at medium.

Besides Shortel (a Brew recruit) and Goodger (Kill), there are no other players on the MN roster that I can think of that are from the Kansas City metro area. There are a lot of schools down here with quality football programs but it is hard to compete with the Missouri, Kansas, and Kansas State programs that are all close to KC.
