BS. They have Illinois of all teams ranked ahead of us. It is quite nice to see 6 Big Ten teams ranked.

Why is that BS? Illinois has most of its rotation back from a team that finished ahead of Minnesota on the Big Ten in 2008-09. I think the Gophers are in a great position at No. 25.

The Gophers are better than #25 with or without your boy. But, Royce will play a big part and he's unknown. RSIII will play a big part and some don't know how much better he will be this year.

I wouldn't get too concerned about a preseason ranking. #18 in the coaches is much more reasonable, but #25 isn't awful.

The bigger concern should be the 2010 and 2011 recruiting classes of other Big Ten schools as compared to the Gophers... scary.

my goal for the season is for them to finish the season in the top 25, which should secure a top-6 seeding and make them likely to win at the very least, 1 game in the dance. So anything inside the top 25 is cool with me... and Illinois should be good again this year, they finished 3rd in the conference last year.. they lose their leader and best defensive player in Frasier, but they have 3 good guards coming in, including one, DJ Richardson, who will compete for conference freshman of the year.

Ranked 18 in one, 25 in another, it just shows you how little stock you should put into preseason rankings, as far as order goes. Every team has question marks. It is nice to see 6 Big 10 teams in, it shows the conference is getting recognized.

I really think the 3-6 spots in the Big 10 are a crapshoot between us, Illinois, tOSU, and Michigan.

The beauty of basketball rankings, they mean nothing.

...especially when your team is no where near being included in them. :)

Would you be saying the same if you guys were ranked???

I would absolutley be saying the same thing. The rankings mean nothing because......................... they have a tournament that determines a champion. It really is pretty simple. Whether you are ranked 10th or 200th, you still have to play the games and you will get an opportunity if you are good enough to win the championship.

Throughout the season, number 14 whovever will be playing at unranked whoever and will be a 5 point underdog, and the talking heads will scream that a huge upset happened because number 14lost. Just another example of how stupid the rankings are.

not one vote for wisky!

If I read the AP poll correctly, Wisconsuck didn't get one single vote! Hard to believe after the run they've had, Holy Cross got a vote for cryin' out loud!

Wisconsuck?

That is pretty good.

The good news is the Badgers still get to play the season.

It is also depressing to look at the rosters of the top teams in the conference- mich state is really young, so is Purdue, Ohio state.... Hopefully all the other good players not wearing a gophers uniform will leave for the nba.
