per the AP:

Purdue coach Darrell Hazell is starting to watch the pieces come together and likes what he sees.

Players seem to be on board with what the second-year head coach is trying to accomplish, Hazell says. They care, too, not just about what they're doing on the field, but about one another. And over the first half of the season, Hazell has witnessed the Boilermakers develop a quality that many teams struggle to find — a bond and a chemistry among players.

"I feel like 99 percent of our football team has dove into the water," Hazell said. "Last year we had a couple of guys sticking their toe in and couple of guys would jump in, but I think they're all in right now and I think that's why we're seeing the progress that we're seeing at the rate we're seeing it."

Go Gophers!!

A most dangerous team at Homecoming with all the distractions that can ruin the Gophers run if taken lightly.

Agree we need to take them seriously, but what a deflating loss it would be. Let's hope it doesn't happen. Go Gophers!

I love our Minnesota optimism couched in a perpetual expectation of the worst.

Math was never my strong suit, but isn't Purdue 3 wins from Bowl Eligibility?

Also, they spelled Fasching without the "h" in the title of a different article

Minnesota Scene: Fascing named Big Ten's first star in hockey

Really embarrassing, Strib. Really embarrassing.

I was thinking the same thing last night. They WOULD be 2 wins from bowl eligibility if they pull off the upset Saturday. Hopefully that doesn't happen.

Forty years in the football desert

Yet, to be seen if Jerry is our Moses but last year the Nebraska win was the parting of the Red Sea.

Umm, dosn't Purdue need three more wins to be bowl eligible?

Poor headline. The article says a win over the Gophers puts them to two victories away from bowl eligibility.

This Purdue team has some good athletes and speed. Their running backs are both very solid and fast, and their new QB has looked pretty poised.
