per the AP:

“He said we’re going to do individual workouts before practice. He’s going to get with every player, and he’s going to run them, and he’s going to make sure that you’re working on your weaknesses,” Hollins said. “So I really like that. I’m really excited about that part.”

Go Gophers!!

Wow, an article that was informative and contained actual interviews from HS coaches and Gopher players. It didn't have any spiteful commentary or worn out opinions that were injected by some pompous scribe just to give themselves a feeling of importance.

Can we adopt this newspaper?

Amazing. Dave Campbell is the AP Writer. He was seated in the front row with Sid and Shooter, he saw and heard Pitino and writes this story. Of course he got out of his chair and got quotes from players, and Spencer Tollackson. This is reporting. What the Star Tribune does is something all together different. Thanks for the link

This is the good part about a young and hungry coach. Especially one who probably desperately wants to pave his own path and not have people always going "Hey, that's Rick Pitino's kid". I'm worried about the whole package, meaning how he'll handle the rigors of the conference and all that, but we'll worry about that when we get there. Right now, there's no doubt he's had an excellent first week on the job when it comes to handling the PR and selling his vision to the team (at least according to the team leaders, which is most important).
