Does anyone with inside sources know why pittman was never given a chance. It always seemed to me that pittman woul of been great in the wildcat. He was an awesome juco qb who is not slow, and when given a chance last year he threw a 70 yard TD. He did not have the hands to play wr and it seemed like brewster wasted his talent.

Seems like bad luck (or timing) as much as anything. Pittman was hurt nearly all of last year. This year he had Gray to contend with for that spot. Unfortunately, Gray is bigger, stronger and faster.

Just a guess, but I am going with he wasn't good enough to play.

Pittman was badly hurt

Mr Pittman was badly hurt last year (muscle tore away from the bone) and my guess is he never fully recovered. In addition he is very short. Last year before he was hurt I thought he would contribute - he had tremendious quickness that would have allowed him to get open against any LB in the B10. I don't think he had that this year.

I would agree that it is his injury that really set him back or actually stopped him from being a contributor. The kid obviously has or had a ton of talent, look at his stats and the fact of his rivals ranking prove that. I feel bad for him that he got injured and has never really fully recovered. It happens, Paris Hamilton was the same way, he got on campus got injured and never recovered from it. Brandon Owens could have had NFL potential before his bad injury. Unreached potential due to injury is sad for these guys.

I in no way would label David Pittman as bust
