That's a solid football team.
I have a fear we might get humiliated in a low-level bowl game.
Maybe the Insight is a better destination.

Yeah I know a little bit about them... ;)

As a fan of both teams Im torn about whether I want them to play eachother(I guess if they do one of them has to win right?).

From the gopher perspective I definitely wouldnt want to play Central and risk losing to a MAC team

- We beat up on the rest of the MAC like a big conference school would

- Only bad game was a loss at BC where we dominated the first half but didnt put up enough points to make up for a terrible second... The other loss was at arizona 19-6 in the first game of the year(at about 12am eastern time due to lightning delays mind you)

- If they meet in the Motor city(pizza pizza) bowl Central will be sure to have a lot of fans there(big student section that will have no problem getting to Detroit)

- An experienced QB with playmaking wide outs

- A much better defense than South dakota state:rolleyes:

Heres to hoping that they get into different bowls and both win.

I have to say, when CMU's been on tv, their offense has been pretty entertaining to watch.

If Central Michigan wins the MAC (and perhaps even if they don't), they're almost certainly headed to the bowl in Mobile, who gets the first pick from the MAC this year and has seen that league's rep get obliterated two years in a row.

LeFevour is a stud. Anyone who puts up video game numbers like he did last night (25 of 28???) is very good.

I REALLY hope that we play a 6-6 or 7-5 Big XII team in the Insight Bowl instead of CMU in the Pizza Bowl. From a perception standpoint, there is no upside to beating a MAC team in a bowl (unless maybe they're ranked - but I doubt that would be the case), but humiliation in losing to one.

Whereas the potential Big XII candidates:
ISU - About as consistent as we are and perhaps not as much depth/athletecism
K-State - Has 2 FCS (1-AA) victories padding their record, also very inconsistent
Kansas State - has lost 5 in a row and the program is imploding right now

I'd like our chances against any of these midwestern BCS-league teams.

One more thought about CMU.

I wold estimate that there is a 80% chance that Butch Jones will get hired away from CMU before the 2010 season kicks off. The question is whether that will happen before or after their bowl game.

The Chippies are one team I want NO PART OF in the Little Caeser's Bowl game (if we can help it - and Iowa win would do that...). Dan LaFevour is one hell of a QB and an NFL prospect, and playing in Ford Field will essentially be a home game for CMU.

And I do agree that Central Mich is the best football team in Michigan.
