I'm leaving Thursday, gonna check out the NY State Fair on Friday for comparison purposes, and then watch our team tee off on the Orange. I guarantee absolute carnage. I would not want to be on the opposite side of our team's pent up energy. We are bigger, stronger and faster with a quiet confidence and a workmanlike attitude. I like the fact that this team will have to earn respect one game at a time. We're building another dynasty and that takes time, but we are on schedule. Bring on the f'ing Trojans, those pukey little So. Cal nancy boys. Welcome to the Big Ten, meat. (and yes, all you bird brains who think I don't know that USC is next year, I am aware)

I went to grad school at Syracuse, but am not going to the game. For a good time on Friday or Saturday night, check out Armory Square downtown. It's an older warehouse district with bars, restaurants and clubs. It's the best Syracuse has to offer as far as nightlife or eating.

The bars and restaurants around the SU campus are very young (lots of underagers) and the food isn't much. If you wanna hit somewhere cool before the game, check out The Varsity (it borders campus on the Dome side of campus).

Let me know if you want anymore info.

Studwell only continues to prove his ultimate douchery in another thread. Typical.

I'm goin'

Staying with the CC tour at the Parkview. American Airlines both ways.

Did some research. Looks like lots of great pubs in the Clinton/Walton Street area, about 7 blocks from the hotel. I guess this is the "Armory Square" area. Has a "takeover" joint been set up yet? I like "Kitty Hoyne's Irish Pub" or maybe the "Syracuse Suds Factory" as a start.

Kitty Hoyne's is pretty cool. Do some Irish Car Bombs if you go.

Thanks, Writer

I'll check out the places you have mentioned. CC folks, I have your leader's cell # so I may call and find out where you guys are hanging.

We open in a dome the year we finally get out of the dome.

Ironic. Isn't it?

Are you still pissed about that atomic wedgie?

How many times do I have to say I'm sorry? I didn't mean for it to be atomic.

I will be there! My gf and I are driving up Friday night right after work and staying with some friends. By the time we arrive we will probably just crash for the night on Friday, but we should be going out on Saturday. Thanks for the tips on areas to go out.

Ironic. Isn't it?

My gf (MN alum as well) looked like she going to cry  with disappointment when she found out that Syracuse plays in a dome and we would have tolerate one more game inside before The Bank opens.

I'm flying into NYC with my son on Thursday morning. We're planning to pick up some last minute tickets for a show on Broadway. Driving to Syracuse on Friday morning.

My parents met in Syracuse, so we all thought about going. However, I was just in Upstate NY last month, and my parents have been twice this month. That is WAY too much Upstate action.

If it wasn't in a dome I'd have thought about it more seriously.

Should be a fun trip though for those of you who have never been!

I wish. I was just in the Finger Lakes/Ithaca region this past weekend (it's gorges), unfortunately I can't make it two in a row. I'll be watching from a bar in Boston instead.

detailed link to football weekend in Syracuse

covers everything (I mean everything) about what to expect for a visitor to Syracuse on a football Saturday. Well, not quite everything. I doesn't cover if flip cup is allowed. So Steve, don't get too worked up if you see that game being played.

"trailer park boys" is a popular canadian mockumentary television series and this guy who is calling himself "steve french" is obviously f-ing with a lot of you.

I took the time to look up the "popular canadian TV show" you are talking about and found no reference of Steve French. I did, however, find 8 "Steve French" listings in the Minneapolis phone directory. One of them is me. Do you also believe that the moon landing was faked?

Hahahahahah, you are one funny SOB  . Don't over do it though, won't be as funny. One thread a week would be perfect.

Not sure I get the Steve French bit, but something about him could catch on with the students. Do not be surprised if Steve French Pie tshirts pop up.
