When Marion was playing, I heard his Dad say that their youngest son, at that time in 8th grade, was actually the best athelete at that age of any of his sons. He must be in High School now. How is he doing??

I don't think he was in 8th grade when Marion was playing. I remember seeing him during games during Dom's years and he seemed to be 5th grade or so.

I would probably offer him a scholarship right now just to be sure.

If his younger brother were in 8th grade at the time Marion III was playing for the Gophers, he would be a junior in college right now.

There's Dominique Barber, but I don't think that's who you're talking about, he plays for the Texans right now. I can't find any info on another younger brother.

I think the year after Dom graduated, Mr. Barber said that the youngest son may be the best of the bunch. I believe he was about a 5th grader then. He was quite young.

Here's an article from 2007 where Marion Barber talks about his youngest son. His name is Thomas. He would be 14 years old now.

Dominique's father also said that his youngest son, Thomas, just started playing hockey. But Marion Barber Jr. said that his 10-year-old is "ultimately waiting in anticipation for his chance to suit up for Minnesota," and continue the family tradition.

A number of years ago we were at one of the open spring practices and Dom was still playing for the Gophers. The youngest Barber that Rog is referring to was playing around with his friends with the football sleds. He was pretty young but was three times the size (both in height and bone structure) compared to the kids around him and they were all the same age...the youngest Barber was putting some muscle into the sleds and no doubt was strong enough to have some fun with it...all the other kids were grabbing their shoulders after each hit on the sled.

I would have offered him right there. His kindergarten or first grade teachers absolutely could have validated how seriously he was taking school!

Assuming he's following in the family business and assuming his growth and passion for the game continued to develop, it would take a serious recruiting job to get him to leave the state.

Go Gophers!!
