Former University of Minnesota defensive back Antoine Winfield Jr., was named to BTN's All-Decade Big Ten football team.

Last season, Winfield was named All-Big Ten First Team and was also the Big Ten's Defensive Back of the Year after recording 88 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, three sacks and two forced fumbles. He also tied a school modern-era, single-season record with seven interceptions in 2019 en route to being named one of five finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Award, which is presented to the best defensive player in the nation.

Winfield recorded 177 tackles in his career and also scored three touchdowns, as he returned two interceptions for scores and also returned a punt for a touchdown. He finished his career with seven tackles for loss and four sacks. The ball found Winfield often as he had nine career interceptions, recovered three fumbles and blocked one field goal.

Go Gophers!!

Great to see Antoine on this team, he earned it. Curious choice in shirt selection, however.

Tampa Bay got it right in drafting two Big Ten All Decade Team members who happened to to be Gophers.

Tampa Bay is Gopher Country.

Honestly going to be tough to continue to be a Vikings fan.
I was never as die hard as I am a die hard gophers fan...but when the Vikings are building the offense around a guy holding out, running an offense that is so boring it drives one of the best Vikings of the last decade (diggs) to want out, and they still haven’t fixed the o line....meanwhile in Tampa two of my top 5 all time gophers both get drafted there the same year plus they sign Brady and Gronk...might have to be a Tampa fan

Since the decade doesn’t end for 6 months, who from this years teams will make it?

Decades start with year 1, end with year 0. There was no year 0, the current calendar started on January 1, 0001.

IMHO - The Vikings missed a golden opportunity for a PR bonanza by passing up on AWJr & TJ. They have the it factor. They could have easily adjust their schemes to take advantage of the talent they have. The Gopher players come NFL ready with the right attitude.

The LSU WR we picked up looks great too. But I will be quietly smirking if TJ ends up having the better stats over their first few years in the league.

I really wish the Vikings woulda at least got one of them.

Not picking Winfield I understand more. Really safety is the strongest position on the roster so drafting one doesn’t make sense. Would’ve loved Winfield in the late first round. He returns kicks/punts and plays nickel for a year and takes over one of the safety spots in 2021 when the Vikings can’t afford to keep both of their safeties after this year. But Vikings had to draft now because I think missing the playoffs in the next played season would cost both coach and GM their jobs.

Wish they’d have taken Tyler Johnson but TJ is so much better off not playing for the Vikings.
If the Vikings couldn’t take advantage of having diggs to the point where diggs wanted out it means TJ would’ve been on the bench for Ham and Conklin to be on the field. I mean, diggs was on the bench at times to get Conklin on the field.

I actually really like the WR the vikes drafted, but I think he will want out after 2-3 years of being on the bench so we can run 2 and 3 tight end sets.

Congrats to both. Kind of hard to believe we were able to see them at the same time.
