What the F is a Golden Eagle supposed to look like except that?

I mean, I could understand it if the eagle were in a hospital bed with an IV from getting worked out nearly to death.

I can see how some moron got the two confused.. especially if there were not side by side.

There's no resemblance. No one would confuse the two images. The similarities are that both are vaguely oval, like any bird; they have eyes in roughly the same place, like any bird; and has the beak of a raptor, like any other raptor. Iowa is essentially attempting to claim ownership of any imagery of the head of a bird of prey. What's next, are they going to sue to stop the use of the eagle on the Great Seal of the United States?

I hope they don't give in, and not just because it is Iowa. Trademark has its purpose, but not when it goes too far.

To be fair, I have had the 'privilege' of knowing more than a few people who would get confused about the two logos.. Of course, neither one of them are real sports fans.
