Probably because he was one of them!
This wonderful citizen assaults some Menards employee with a piece of lumber because the employee asked him to wear a mask, thereby infringing on his "freedumb".
Then he takes off at high speed in his truck while a cop is trapped with his arm in the vehicle... and hits the cop with a hammer.
Lovely. Just lovely.
Anyone hear about it?
So then I guess everyone heard of it.
I got pulled over for speeding on the North Shore a couple od summers ago. The cop was pretty pissed at me and it was justified because I was doing something like 85 in a 55 (impatient and in a rush to get home). Part of white privilege (and maturity) was my assumption that the situation would not escalate beyond the cop being annoyed with me and writing me up. I'm confident that if I was a 20 year old black kid with friends in the car, instead of an older white male with friends in the car, the cop would have yanked me out of the vehicle and things would have escalated in some fashion. So - "White Privilege." for me, it is as simple as this - knowing what you know about the state of race relations in this country, if you had a choice, would you choose to be white or black? I think the vast majority of people would choose to be white. Not because being white provides inherent advantages, but because being black can be perceived as a disadvantage.
And - someone asked why people resist arrest? gets back to the same point. If a white person gets pulled over by the cops, unless he or she is a total meth-head dirtbag, they are generally not going to be in fear of their lives. Whether right or wrong, fair or not, in today's climate, when a black person gets pulled over, they are more likely to be wondering if the cops are going to mess with them. Fear makes people do stupid things. And - to be sure - some of the people involved in these situations are not exactly Rhodes Scholars.
it has become a vicious cycle. minorities don't trust that police will treat them fairly. So when minorities get pulled over, they are less likely to comply. which often leads to altercations. which makes minorities less likely to trust the police and vice versa.
It’s not a conspiracy. The media is filled with partisan activists. They don’t need to be told what to do. They feel they are doing the right thing and making a difference.Oh, I know the answer to this one!
It is because of the vast liberal media conspiracy!
Link to a single person expressing that he “deserved” to die? You won’t be able to find one. From what I've read Dante Wright was no angel. However, he did not deserve to die at that traffic stop. In that situation, two people panicked. Tragically, one had a gun and was incompetent. Today we have another dead black kid at the hands of the police and our state's reputation is further damaged.
