Will we finally get to see A. McDonald this week?

He's on the depth chart, but he was against Iowa as well. 10 different receivers caught balls against Iowa, Andre wasn't one of them.

I know Kill said he still had some things to learn and was still picking up the nuances of the offenses, blocking, etc. but it would be great to see him start making an impact on the field. Season's almost at the halfway mark.

I would love to see him. He's very athletic and can make plays. At this point, our WR corps is full of white guys which is fine, but we need a playmaker at that position. His redshirt is already burned so might as well get him out there and let him learn on the fly.

Coach mentioned last night the Andre will play Saturday.

Not sure if this was your intention or not but your comment makes it sound like you don't believe a white guy can be a playmaker at WR.

I caught that too, MNV, and I wondered why the adjective regarding race had to be included in afurry's comment, unless it was intentional to stir up further discussion.

Sorry, didn't mean it like that. As an unathletic white guy, I find myself using that comparison more than I probably should. I didnt think it would offend anyone.

I just meant we don't have a guy out there that can go up and compete for the ball like Andre potentially can. There isn't a corner he can't match up with for a jump ball. We need that option.

Granted he probably won't be a very consistent one this season as a freshman, but it would be nice to see glimpses. Him and Harbison could make quite the pair. I see Harbison as almost a Percy Harvin clone and Andre McDonald as our deep threat.

Dammit, I knew Eric Decker was black. Jordy Nelson also?

Alright, I was going to leave it at that, but if you are calling them playmakers then you and I have a very different idea of playmaker. The only active white guy that has earned that title is Wes Welker.

I don't know how good Fruechte can get, but if he is does not get to be very good, it will not be due to lack of speed or height. He is faster than McDonald or Harbison, but needs to work on receiver skills, e.g adjusting to the ball, route running, and other finer points. I can't tell how good his hands are yet. His race is not his limitation, it is more about the level of competition he has faced.

This just in: the Gophers aren't in the NFL. More at 11.

I thought Andre looked pretty good today and got himself a few catches. Nice to see him out there making some plays since his RS is already burned.

Definitely a good athlete, thought he ran good routes. Needs to break his habit of jumping on every catch attempt though.

He was definitely the guy they were looking for in the 2nd half. That gives me a lot of hope for the future as the coaches must be seeing a lot in practice. Good to see the young man contributing after a tough start, and hopeful Andre is that explosive threat we need on the outside.

He was impressive today. It was good to see his hard work to get back on the field pay off. Had one drop in some tough conditions. Ran good routes. Was fairly sure handed. Good looking freshmen.
