Andre was just a stud today. His play the last five minutes is the best I have seen from a gopher in years. Actually the entire team just played solid defense and dominated the last five minutes. Fun to see. Nice job Gophers. And really nice job to Andre!

He's got "it". Steps up in the biggest moments. It's really fun to watch and I'm so glad we've got him on our side.

Andre Hollins is fantastic. Is there a Gopher you trusted more with the ball more than Hollins since Bobby Jackson? Was Bobby Jackson ever a Gopher?

Great game all around by everyone, but Andre Hollins is something else.

Vince Grier comes to mind, but as a point guard, I can't think of anyone at the moment. Nolen was usually pretty reliable, but didn't have the scoring ability to do it on his own, so to speak.

Really liked seeing him hit all those mid-range jumpers as well, 3 or 4 of them, good that he can score even if he can't make it all the way in for an easy layup.

I'd also just like to give a shout out to Oto for his solid play in the first half today. We all know he hasn't been at his best this season, and I love to see him have a good game.

Dre is "that" go-to finisher guy that they haven't had in a long time.

P.S. two guys flying under the radar this game: Oto and Elliott both had extremely productive minutes - albeit few minutes. Elliott was amazing on the boards and moved his feet on D. His come-from-nowhere block was huge. Oto looked like a new, confident player, the one I've been waiting to see come out. Reminded me of Abu-Shamala with a bit more skill.

Welch had a few nice bench minutes too.

Ball has to be in Dre's hand at crunch time. Just rock solid. Best part is that they can't just try and isolate him defensively as we have so many weapons. Can't wait for the next game. Just awesome.

Welch had a few nice bench minutes too.

Welch with 12 minutes, no turn overs and 4 points. Oto with solid bench play with 4 points when we needed him, especially that crucial jumper as the shot clock was closing out. Elliot with 6 rebounds and solid play off the bench. Ingram did his job.

Depth certainly helped us today.

Dre played exceptionally well today, especially late. He gave Keith Appling fits, especially in the final five minutes. He's not only got the skill set needed to be "the guy", but also the mindset. Love the fact that he's a Gopher!

Man Appling is unbelievable too.

All joking about the announcing aside, he did play very very well today. If he turns into the leader of that team they will be tough.

Yep, I thought Oto and Elliot played really well. I think this game is a tough matchup for both of those guys but I was surprised at how well they both played in their limited duty. I would have liked to see a bit more of Ingram, but it was a close game.

Oto did remind me of Abu-Shamala, good call. Oto played with some confidence and I have to admit, when he went up for that dunk I was about to complain before he threw it down.

Trevor had a GREAT game. He played solid defense down there, and near the end he was basically the only rebounder we had down low against their waves of bigs. I don't know how many he finished with, but I bet he had 6-7 in the last 5 minutes. What an effort.

Dre stepped up at the end. You could see by his expression, he was determined not to let the game get away.

Joe Coleman made a couple of nice passes to set up dunks during the dry spell.

Good all around team game, but IMO, the difference was Trevor. It was the same old MSU. They could not shoot, but they crashed the boards and then tried to score on put backs. Trevor either got the rebound or prevented the put back. Big difference from Draymond Green laying in the rebounds last year.

+1 You beat me to it.

This is what I loved seeing. That look in his eye. He would not be denied a victory. Such ferocity and determination.

Huh? 12 rebs, 11 points for the game. Oh well, what's in a number as long as our team score > their team score.

Exactly, 11 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes very solid. Plus he played his hinder off against their bigs.

Andre played the kind of game I knew he had to have in order for us to win. 22-6 and just 3 turnovers and none in the final 7 minutes when we closed them out. Great performance by him...I'd still like to see him try and penetrate more in a game like today because we had them in foul trouble....but today was a very solid performance and hopefully a huge growing moment for Andre and the team.

I was making reference to station19's comment, not yours. You are right on, Trevor played BIG today.

Andre has been fantastic. We got really lucky to land a player of his caliber. Way under the radar. As a sophomore, he is already making a case for all big ten. To think that he will probably improve the next couple years.......

The way he finished today's game really resembled Westbrook against Sconny. Andre wasn't going to let the game slip away.
