Andre Hollins helped lead his team to a 60-54 win over Melrose in the ifinals of the Region 8-AAA Tournament. The two teams played five times this season with White Station winning three. Both teams are still alive. The Spartans will face Cordova Monday in the West Tennessee Sectional. White Station defeated Cordova in the season opener 41-39.

Good news. Wow playing each other five times in a season really pops out.

White Station plays Cordova while Melrose plays Craigmont; the winners of those games make the Class AAA State Tournament.
"Craigmont will host Melrose on Monday at 7 p.m. in the sectionals, with the winner advancing to the Class AAA State Tournament in Murfreesboro. Cordova will play Monday at White Station in the sectionals."

Say what you will about the Minnesota HS basketball postseason, but at least the MSHSL is very good about making clear who is playing who and when.

I think they have adopted the new octuple-elimination format down there. I was looking further into it, and White Station will have to lose a couple games they will be favored in or else Andre will still be playing HS ball when the 2011-2012 Gopher season starts.
 

There are 8 Regions creating 16 teams, winner and runner up. Then regions cross play; White Station (Region 8 winner) plays Cordova (Region 7 runner-up) while Melrose(region 8 runner-up) plays Craigmont (Region 7 winner) -- this will eliminate 8 of the 16 teams; the 8 winning teams will then head to the State tournament.

So I guess White Station is still in it even thought they lost to Central? They do the tournaments down there differently than here...
 

Central is out; lost to Andre 78-74 in the District game

The only game Andre has lost in the post season is to Melrose in the District 16-AAA Tournament
Championship game--
After that they beat Melrose in the region 8-AAA Tournament Championship game
Only Melrose and White Station addvance to the West Tennessee Sectionals from region 8-AAA.
