I'm anything but old-fashioned, but I can't for the life of me figure out why Amelia & Marcus focus so much on Rodney's # of dunks compared to Joe's, or someone's lack of dunks, or how many dunks so and so has this year?

Seriously, they mention it at least every other article and/or tweet. I'm not even in the "a dunk is only 2 points" camp; I think a strong dunk really brings momentum and energy to a team, but to focus or harp on it as much as these two do is beyond me.

I don't know why I thought of it just now, but Marcus brought it up again in his article tonight...so if anyone sees Amelia or Marcus walking around Williams, someone should ask them how many dunks Rodney has so far this year (because that is literally one of the last things I think I'd be focused on as a player, coach, fan, or sportswriter).

Now back to celebrating 2 B1G wins in a row!

P.S. Glad to see my initial "Play Coleman" thread resurrected again tonight! :)

dunks in the context of the offense are a good measure of the offensive execution

So are layups. But no one says a peep about those.

And the way both Marcus and Amelia talk about dunks; it has nothing to do with "offensive execution," more of a tally board.

They probably just know that fans get excited about them. I didn't see all the tweets, but Joe is a guy known for dunking and him having his first dunk tonight might be surprising to some people, hence some of the tweets about it.
