Amelia blog: Can the Gophers maintain the changes they made against Indiana?

As long as the Gophers set the pace of the game and maintain their intensity and focus, then the next 3 games will be in the W column.

Today's. game will be in the 80's. Penn State does not switch well on defense and sends 4 players to the offensive glass. We should get some open brakes to the basket. I would expect Coleman to have a good game. Nebraska will try and take the air out of the ball. Game will be in the high 50's or 60's. We should win if we pound the boards. It will be a good game for Trevor. Purdue is very young and gets rattled when things go south. It will be more up tempo than Nebraska. Purdue will throw up some crazy shots. If they get on a roll and we don't shoot well this could be a loss. This is a game where we need Dre to drop in about 25 points to guarantee a win. Mackey Arena has some of the softest rims in the conference. This should help Rodney and his low arc shots. When Gene Keady coached the team, he had the rims screwed down so tight the bolts were stripped, which created long rebounds. I remember Dutcher saying when he was doing color on FSN with Dick Bremer he would have his guys setup deeper in the paint on rebounds because of the bounce off the rims. Keady was a beauty and had the best hair thing going along with Lou Henson.

At the time, their hair repulsed me, but now I miss it.
