When you have complete control of the media and of the narrative to be distributed, you can get people to actually buy this kind of propaganda. it's startling really, and quite honestly it's not good if you have any interest in having at least a remotely educated population.

hmmm - we want the IRS to be able to look at your $600 transaction so that we can stop billionaires from cheating on taxes. Anyone believe that?

We watch this play out daily with the leftists on this board. Being educated isn’t their thing. It’s all about the narrative which they faithful buy into.

This is absolutely insane. I can't believe a single citizen in this country would actually support it and am surprised idiots in Congress would actually present it. In addition, it seems to be an obvious violation of the 4th Amendment.

They already do it for transactions of $10,000.

John Oliver and his team are more intelligent than the right wing propaganda collective that the righties here quote on an hourly basis.
Listening to comedians for you news got you to this point.

I'm about to yell "Uncle" and see what Kamala could do as president. This asshole is the worst president ever.

Reporting a cash transaction over $10,000 is one thing. Having ready access to everyone's private bank accounts is a whole different thing. Total overreach and totalitarian move.

But reporting a cash transaction over $600 is another thing.

Because .... I made it up that it is. Arbitrary lines are arbitrary.

Sorry you won't get to cheat on your taxes, as much, fatty.

Or maybe we should manufacture more things in America. Increasing taxes on American corporations sounds like the best way to accomplish this.

You don't remember? We tried lowering corporate tax rates (trickle down economics) and companies chose to give executives and officers large bonuses. And they proceeded to set stock buyback records.

Trickle down economics doesn't work. What will prompt companies to increase workforce is increased demand. More money in the pockets of consumers.
