I'm surprised that there isn't a Fall Camp thread yet, so here goes. Please try to stay on topic.

Did anyone get out to yesterdays first open practice? If so, please share your thoughts.

Nate Umlor contributing on OL would be a nice surprise

Mo looked fantastic yesterday. RB will be interesting to watch over the next few weeks.

Transfer from Michigan is impressive. Predict he will be starter by end of camp.

I was there and agree. He looked very good in coverage and broke on the ball quickly, the speed of that practice looked easy for him. He lined up with the 1's for a while and Durr came back in and made some plays. I also think St. Juste will be the starter he is just too talented to keep off the field.

That would be huge if St. Juste ends up as an upgrade over Kiondre and Coney Durr.

I saw him with some nice coverage in a one on one drill with the receiver but other then that didn't pay much attention. I'll keep an eye on him the next practice I go to.

per Megan:

Notes

• Former defensive back Josh Aune, a freshman, has switched to linebacker to take advantage of his bulk, Fleck said. Fleck also said sophomore Nate Umlor has moved from the defensive line to the offensive line and could be in competition for the left tackle spot.

• Senior defensive end Carter Coughlin took limited reps with some “tightness,” according to Fleck.

• With a 110-man limit for training camp and 117 players on the roster, a few sat out. One was freshman receiver Jornell Brooks II, who Fleck said is coming off an injury and wouldn’t have participated anyway.

• Another missing player was freshman defensive lineman Rashad Cheney Jr. Fleck said he was “dealing with some issues” but is hopeful for a quick return.

Benjamin St. Juste with a nice interception covering Autman Bell. Also looks like Faalele was able to push around Logan Richter pretty easily who is 6-4, 330.

I noticed that St-Juste pick too. His athleticism stands out. That’s why Michigan was so high on him, and he got some playing time as a true freshman. I’m not sure why they gave up on him over a hamstring pull. Maybe they recruited someone they like better. Who knows.

It’s too bad BTN isn’t doing a Maroon and Gold Days special this summer.

We are on our annual summer pilgrimage through the upper Midwest. The practices run two hours? Are they doing autographs after for the kids?

Meanwhile, here's WisconSIN's fall camp -- practicing fielding punts:

I think Faalele actually pancaked Richter, But the video cut out just before he hit the turf. You can see it if you pause it several times. He was about to go down.

Logan would likely suffer that indignity frequently this year in practice if he played DE. I think he’s quite relieved he’ll be playing inside.

Big Dan is going to pancake many B1G defensive linemen in 2019. It's one of the biggest (no pun intended) reasons I'm really excited for this season.

Imagine what he’ll do to the undersized Georgia Southern D-Linemen. ;)
