All Big Ten Honors-Tangible signs of improvement

One way to think about how the program is improving is to look at All B1G honors historically. Of course it isn't a comprehensive indicator of improvement (like conference wins or championships, which is THE point). Such honors, however, can represent a general trend of player on-field performance quality, which, ideally, translate into wins/championships.

Also, if you count the POY & COY awards (3 this year, none in the past 7), that too suggests the same upward trend that our all-conference 1st/2nd/HM team awards indicate. In fact, you need to go back to 2005 (Eslinger received O Lineman of the year award; 1st Team-Eslinger, Maroney, Setterstrom, Spaeth; 2nd Team-Montgomery; HM-Brinkhaus, Lipka, Russell) to find a year that appears to match 2014's quality and number of awards.

We ARE heading in the right direction, even with lower "rated" players coming in.
