Go Gophers!!
Go Gophers!!
No kidding very suprised hope we got more depth at dt then we on gh think we have .
As few DTs the gophers have I'm surprised they move one to the offense.

Colton beebe may end up at DT.Wow, just realized we now have zero HS DT's from the 2015 and 2016 classes. You can bet we'll be hitting the JC ranks soon enough at that position.
The Hall move may be a sign of Miller looking for smaller more athletic tackles. DT depth is fine this year. They have 2 Seniors, 3 Juniors, and 1 Sophomore. However, they will definitely need to find a few DTs in each of the next 2 recruiting classes.
Bodies. Different than depth.
Epke, Richardson, Timms, and Stelter have all seen significant playing time. Add Jackson as a solid JUCO. Every time someone asks Claeys about DL depth, he mentions Gary Moore. They have more than just 'bodies'.
Depends how you look at it. I watched 3 of 6 guys you named get pushed around with ease last year, so I may argue significant playing time doesn't necessarily equate to more than being just a body. 2 of the other 3 didn't play for us last year and the last guy is coming off of injury.
I'm not thinking we are doomed - I'm Luke warm tho. I would love to see that be an area of strength. Maybe then we wouldn't need to sell out our LBs and Safeties on almost every play to stop the run. We likely can't do that this year anyway with EM31 and BBC gone. I'm glad you are optimistic on that position group. I hope you're right. I'm just not sold on it at this point as an area of depth.
I see only losing Ndondo-Lay and adding Jackson and Moore as an upgrade for this year. I don't think adding any more freshman DTs would have had an impact this year. I definitely agree that DT depth becomes a concern after this year.
I have been a fan of Alex since he committed. He was a fairly regular poster on /r/CFB and provided some really interesting looks into life as a Big Ten player. It's sad to see this, but I wish him all the best
