Alex Foster: "My top five is Harvard, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota."

“My top five is Harvard, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.”

He went into a little more depth about each school.

“Everybody knows I love Harvard. With Tennessee and Coach Martin he is one of the coaches I have always liked. He is a real hands on person that you can’t help but to like. Minnesota has Tubby Smith who is a legend. Wisconsin and Nebraska have been talking to me a lot. Everybody I like I have been close too.”

Tweet from Marcus:

"Alex Foster is high school teammates at De LaSalle (IL) with fellow Gopher target Gavin Schilling. Both are hearing from Wisconsin as well."

Tweet was from back in April.. now, Foster is headed to Seton Academy (IL) and Schilling is off to Findlay Prep in Vegas.

For the Meanstreets in the EYBL regular season, Foster averaged 5.1p & 3.6r in 13.8m per game. 61.3% from the floor (only attempted 1 three..made it), but 9/30 for 30% from line. Good job on the offensive boards, had a problem with fouls.

Rivals has his current offer including Minnesota, Tennessee, Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas A&M, Purdue, etc.

Scout says he also has an offer from Indiana.

Amazing how talented EYBL teams are that high major players only average 13.8 minutes per game.

I love his quote about Harvard, smart kid if he is thinking about opportunities outside of basketball.

Question and then an opinion:

He said: "My top five is Harvard, Tennessee, Nebraska, Wisconsin, and Minnesota."

Question: Will he really get into Harvard using "is" as a plural?

Opinion: These are the types of small things that matter.

Dr. Don,

He must have had the same English teacher as I did.

Depends on the way you are looking at it. He may be referring to his top five as a singular list, in which case "is" works. However, I think that the author should have had a colon after the "is," if this is the case.
