Al Yolen may be overlooked (at least by one opponent blog)

Other than butchering Al's name in a typo, not a bad write up, and reasonable respect for the Gophers. The implication that they are slow is way off base, though. Tempo is not always about speed. Mr. Baby Blue Blogger might actually be surprised by how deep are beloved Gophers are, though, when they play tonight.

Let's brng on the game!

It is kind of a bad write up. He calls the gophers a thin team. Many think that the gophers strength is in their depth. He calls the entire Big Ten slow. He must have missed the part about the Big Ten being a top 3 conference this year (at worst). Maybe they play a slower tempo, that certainly doesn't mean they are slow physically (though I do think the gophers are slower than UNC).

I think people around the country just get lazy and fall back on the "Big 10 is slow" stuff. It happens all the time with football and basketball. Apparently our rowing teams are also old fashioned and slow. The soccer teams must be physical, but slow. The golf teams hit long drives, but they are slow.

People associate cold with white.
People associate white with slow and unathletic.

I bet if the northern states had cotton plantations in the 1850s everyone would be talking about how fast the north is.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that found the comment about the Gophers not being very deep to be odd. I think that is one of their major strengths and it will be even moreso when Joseph returns.

I didn't go to the site, but as for being thin, I would agree and I think it may show up big tonight. We are not a deep team.

Looking at the minutes distribution from last night I would say Tubby agrees with you.

Yea probably because there would be more black people in the north then

that or hes realized what every other coach has in the history of college basketball. Line substitutions are horrible for preserving momentum, and they shouldnt really be used.
