After Norwood Teague scandal, U is left with some explaining to do

Kind of ironic for the Strib to publish this.

Look at who the strib is getting quotes from in these articles. Phyllis Kahn? She is like the most disliked person in the legislature. They haven't been able to find anything else out and they're vamping with this until the investigation is finished when they'll be 'shocked' by the allegations and 'misdeeds.'

Justin Gaard was on Kfan setting the record straight today, ripping the hell out of the track team's essentially concocted title ix complaints and the media trying to make up a title ix story where there isn't one.
Teague was a slimeball, that doesn't mean every woman he fired was a victim of some scandal.

Korzo was doing the same on espn1500 this am.

Maybe there is more there than we know.....but once you say sex anything, everyone is guilty and it runs rampant.

Just because Teague makes some very inappropriate remarks does not mean all women are treated unfairly and the athletic dept is anti-women.

Even Dave Mona who does not usually criticize places like the Strib, did and said, watch them now have two or more follow-up articles this week.

Time for the U to stand up against the Strib and other op-eds like this.

Need to set the record straight...she is willing to work hard Unlike some who do nothing at all and gets the facts screwed up...appreciate it if you wouldn't make things up.

+1 for the bold. However, the media controls the message. Old quote about not getting into it with someone who buys ink by barrel.

Star Tribune getting ripped for inaccuracy/hypocrisy of Sunday's U of M story

The Star Tribune has been getting taken to task today by a number of fellow media types for their very poorly sourced, highly inaccurate and extremely hypocritical "smear" piece in Sunday's paper. Most are saying it is full of unsubstantiated opinion, innuendo and completely untrue claims that the U of M is somehow unsupportive of women's athletics and against Title IX. Virtually all are saying that is hogwash and not aligned with the facts at all. That the U of M is and has long been supportive of Title IX...perhaps even more than they are required to be by law. Basically saying the Star Tribune needs to take a look in the mirror and keep their trap shut....and that the Teague matter and anything to do with Title IX are completely separate and unrelated topics.

Do you have more to add to the ones already listed in this thread?

Pretending a title ix complaint about a track and sexual harassment are related is ridiculous

Big surprise that rag would do a smear job. I don't ever spend a dime on their misinformation or reading their radical opinions on most any subject. I suggest they quit covering Gopher sports or better yet all sports .They are no longer needed with the sports news of all kinds at our fingertips. I mean it isn't about selling papers in a rapidly declining medium is it.?Tabloid type journalism is their last hope to being relevant anymore. They try to do this by sensationalizing half truths and quoting those with bias and agendas . It is become a media norm .

To be fair, for the most part newspapers have always slanted stories. Especially if you go back to when they were owned by the industrialists.

Radical opinions on most any subject? If this isn't hyperbole you are the one that might as radical as they come. By the way, all of that information at your fingertips might be as slanted. It's just that it leans your way.

I was talking about sports information at your fingertips not your hated Fox News. lol As for the Trib politically we all know where they lean. you seem to be sensitive about that and in regards to this topic it plays a part in their bias.I find the Trib far from middle of the road politically. By the way I also find myself shaKing my head over some of Fox News reporting at times as well.
