Add Bernie to the Championship Trophy

A worthy idea. Not sure why Stagg's name is on it. Was the University of Chicago ever in the Big 10? I'm old, but not that old.

Anyway, there are so many great coaches: Bierman, Hayes, Schembechler, etc., who would have been a better name than Paterno in the first place given Penn State's relatively short tenure in the Big 10.

Yes. Chicago was in the Western Conference/Big Ten from 1896-1946, and Stagg was the head coach there from 1892-1932. He coached the Maroons for 37 seasons (1896-1932) as part of the Big Ten, and they won 199 games (116 conference) during that time, as well as 7 Big Ten titles and two national championships.

I believe the Maroons won the first ever Big Ten championship.
