Imagine if you were at the games. Nothing sucks more at games then TV Timeouts. Must be 20X worse when it is 15 degrees out.
 

But Hooters really makes the beer colder and the football better!
 

Timed one, and it was 3 min, 15 seconds. Not even a quarter break either I don't think. Even NFL timeouts are only 1 min 45.

They did seem extra long today for some reason.

I never understand why people complain about this. Do people go to the games by themselves and have no one to talk to? We have met plenty of people that sit in our section where my season tickets are over the years and spend the down times during the game conversing about the game or other things. Part of what I really enjoy about game days other than the game itself. TV timeouts have never bothered me at all at a game.

I commented during the game how the "modern game has no flow" to it.

The only way there's momentum is during long offensive drives.

Maybe that's what separates the best from the rest...by being able to just turn a switch and go coming out of a TV timeout.

In the post-game on KFAN this was noted as a potential reason folks stay home...3.5 hours to for 1 to 1.5 hours of actual play on the field.

Today was bad though being there in person. I attributed it to the ABC national feed.
 

It was absolutely insane the length of commercials today. And anyone who doesn't think the length of games is not impacting attendance is an idiot. Students throughout the country will continue to stay away if they can't keep the games around 3 hrs. max.
Money trumps attendance.
 

I usually pvr and watch later (no one leaks the score in Winnipeg) but today I watched the first quarter and and a half live. It was almost unwatchable it was so slow. Now I know how the game day thread gets so squirrelly. Everyone posts during the commercials.
 



Yeah, no one likes commercials but would you rather play on a nationally televised network with a lot of commercials or ESPN8 with fewer ads and viewers?

I don't really mind the commercials. Yes, they're a bit annoying, but it doesn't put me in a tizzy. If I'm at home, I have a computer to entertain me during the commercials. If I'm in the stadium, I have friends.

I realize I'm in the minority with commercials though.
 

Kinda off-topic, but I don't think the broadcasters ever mentioned that it was epilepsy awareness today.

Yea some gump called kfan called in saying he won't be back to TCF because of the commercials. If you want prime time you get commercial morons.

If the 10-15 minutes he lost today because of the extra commercials is going to keep him away from now on, then I don't think he was much of a fan to begin with.
