Hernandez is featured in the Florida Gators’ 2014 sports calendar, despite awaiting trial on three murder charges.
Hernandez was indeed a star for the Gators, but keeping him in the calendar was a huge mistake. Florida became aware of the blunder on Monday.
Football spokesperson Daniel Apple explained that the calendar was approved last spring. Hernandez was arrested June 26, 2013 and soon charged with the murder of Odin Lloyd. He has since been charged with two other murders that occurred in 2012. Gainesville, Florida police have also kept Hernandez as a person of interest in a shooting that occurred while he was a player at UF.

That is awesome. Epic screw up.
What a great gift for a prisoner who needs a calendar to mark the days before he is released.

That same company made a similar error (though much less glaring), putting Titus Young on the 2013 Detroit Lions calendar. Dude was dismissed from the team before the 2012 season even ended. Cue lame joke about Lions not having 12 players worth putting on a Gregorian calendar.
You'd think a company that produces calendars for many teams across different sports organizations might have a dude who is up on current events and could QC these things.
