I was deeply saddened when I heard the news of Tyler Sash's passing. I decided I'd let a couple days pass before I'd write this post.
I'll never forget when Tyler Sash came to our grandson's high school graduation party in May 2012. A few months earlier, the New York Giants had defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII. Tyler was humble and he showed great patience and tolerance when guests approached him, especially the very young and teens. He took off his Super Bowl Championship ring and let the youngsters look and touch the expensive ring. The youngsters passed the ring to others, but Tyler did not seem concerned when it was out of his sight.
Personally, I enjoyed visiting, briefly, with Tyler about college football, his Hawkeye days, and, yes, Golden Gopher football.
It meant a lot to our grandson and his mother that Tyler Sash took the time to visit his graduation celebration.
Tyler was a great college football player, and he was a nice person!
