Great listen. I am not going to try to summarize this fully, but I caught glimpses.
PJ Fleck and staff are tooling up the Defense with kids with wingspan, athleticism, and speed. Some are obviously raw who have not been noticed by the big guns because they have raw talent and have not reached their full potential.
We'll see how the European recruits go. IMHO, it is a high risk/high reward gambit.
PJ Fleck repeatedly say in the past that he want kids who wants to be here - to develop mentally, physically, and spiritually in his "Nekton" or "Nektron" mold. Regardless of whether or not a MN kid wants to be a Gopher, it is entirely up to the kid. The Gophers simply moved on if they are not or who are vascillating. Who knows, the players who are committed who are from elsewhere maybe equally as good or even better.
"Offense sells tickets, Defense win championships" - the veritable legendary Bear Bryant said. IMHO, the Gophers are quietly building a Defense that will be exciting to follow in the next few years.
The Gophers are pecked to finish 8-4 to 10-2 in 2019. We shall see barring key injuries. The game against Maryland may be a key game.
