A great day for Oklahoma State: Marcus Smart to return

I guess more power to him. It's pretty unlikely he stays in the top 5 of the draft next year, that just doesn't seem to happen often when you're that highly regarded and you stay in school another year. But even if he's still lottery, that's darn good. I hope it works out for him, it only helps college ball to see examples of guys that highly touted stick around and still get all the success in the pros afterward.

And next year's class is going to be stacked

Great for college basketball and OK State, but I can't say I think it's a good decision for his personal future. His stock isn't going to be much higher than it is now, and I don't think the risk is worth it.

How big of an insurance policy can these kids buy?
For the college game this is great, hard to fathom being a top 5ish pick and not coming out. Lot of money on the table...

Maybe T. Boone Pickens had a conversation with him.

(that's a joke)

The priority shouldn't be to get drafted it should be survive in the NBA long enough to get 3-4 contracts. Smart coming back will hurt his draft stock but it should help his overall game. Some guys in this draft are coming out not because they are ready but to take advantage of the poor draft. This will go down as one of the worst drafts in history unless some players really develope. Trey Burke is the most ready to play talent in this draft and it'd not close.

Good for him. I think there are WAY too many guys jumping "early" to the pros without being capable of earning a significant role their rookie season. I think he knows he will be a lotto pick no matter when he comes out, that makes staying easier. A lot of the guys you see leaving are borderline first/second round picks that think their stock will be lower next year in what they think might be a stronger draft.
