When you look at Bzdelik's recod at Colorado it's amazing they fired Guadio for him. Here was the AD's reasoning at the time, pretty amazing:
"We were 16-17 in February in those three years and in March 4-7, and 1-6 in postseason play, including the ACC tournament. In six of those losses, we were the higher-seeded team or better seeded in five of those losses. Yet the games weren't even close."

Two college jobs between the NBA, nice try.
So if he would have went straight from the NBA, to Wake he would have been more successful? I was sure recruits would be amazed by his NBA experience, that's what I keep hearing about Flip.

Usually charismatic individuals are successful at recruiting which Flip is. He's not the 1a choice but he's a very good choice.

The coaching is not in question. You compared Flip to Brewster? Credibility out the window.

Nothing more sad and pathetic than being afraid to take risks in life because of fear that the grass is browner on the other side.
But what the heck...I'm with you. Let's give Tubby a lifetime coaching contract here at Minnesota. We can then hang banners for 6th place conference finishes and hand out annual participation trophies to all the players. YAY!
I fail to see what is so special about 6-12 conference finishes like the last two years (and the one I think we shall see next year) that we should fear a coaching change. This is supposed to be Tubby's best team and they might not even end up .500 in conference (again.)
To compare Bzdelik with Saunders is laughable. Just look at their coaching records and success.
Why do posters on here seeem to go out of their way to slam Flip? Nobody knows if he would be successful coaching the gophers or not, but what is so wrong with people getting their hopes up?
I think part of it is that the "Tubby Bashers" hype up Flip in order to slam Tubby more so the "Tubby Lovers" slam Flip to help Tubby.
I don't think either side hates / loves Flip as much a they say, but it gets drummed up for arguments sake.
Personally, I would like Flip coaching here. Not sure he is the second coming, but he definitely should be a candidate and be considered.
