As Coyle approaches six months on the job, I'm curious to hear what Gopher fans think of his work.
He's had some big issues with firing the wrestling coach, dialing back donations, and suspensions of football players.
Coyle doesn't seem to be an attention grabber like Norwood. At the same time, has he done enough to be an ambassador?
For now, I'm okay with "lay low" approach. So far, so good but I'd still give a grade of incomplete.

Not enough information.

Everything he has presumably done that we can be sure he probably made the ultimate call on, canceling football ticket price increases, dumping the wrestling coach were good choices, but also no brainers.

ive liked his additions to the football schedules, even if they seem forever and a day away

His biggest tasks will come as seasons end. Does he continue with Claeys or bring in his own guy? Does Lucia "retire" after hockey is over? Has little Pitino done enough to retain his position? All the major sports have questions marks and could be major moves or he could stick with the status quo. I would expect Claeys to remain around as long as he can win 1 or 2 more games.

His grade is "Incomplete" at this juncture. Most of what he's doing probably is taking place within the department, so we're not going to see it. He made the right move on Robinson. I don't read Sid anymore, so I don't know if Coyle is a close, personal friend yet or not.

By spring we'll actually have something to grade him on. Claeys, Pitino, and Lucia all seem to have warm seats right now. Until then he hasn't done much.

He dealt with JRob appropriately. He sent out a survey to us fans which was nice. I've seen no changes in the football game day atmosphere yet. We'll know more after we see how he handles Lucia, Claeys and Pitino. He's a lot more in the background than I expected, but given he gives very bland answers in every interview, I guess his approach works well so far.

As long as he doesn't stroll into the Bolstad clubhouse and tell people how we need to be like Madison.
