Big Ten showing well today.

The Gophers performance at TCU actually looks really solid at this point.
MSU and Wisc with wins against Baylor and (SEC Auburn).

What's good to see is that not only are the Gophers becoming more competitive in the Big Ten, the conference is showing to be better than most expected.

I'm hoping to see an Ohio State win by double digits tonight. That would be a great way to kick off 2015.

Pac 12: 4-1
SEC: 5-4
Big 10: 4-4
ACC: 4-5
Big 12: 1-4

Someone get the Big 12 on life support.

"The BEST DIVISION IN FOOTBALL" is 2-4. Texas A&M beats a slightly above average WV team, and Arkansas beats a bad Texas team. LSU, Mississippi St., Auburn and Ole Miss all lose!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving the reality check the media is getting.

Since there are some hear who believe what is ESPN, the reality check should go beyond the media. I hope it does.

Listening to Fox Sports Radio yesterday, a caller called in and tried to make an argument for why tOSU will win today, the radio host laughed it off and said tOSU has nothing on their resume, and hasnt proven anything this year. Went on the usual rant about how far superior the SEC is to the Big Ten. Said wins against Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan State mean nothing because those were just bad teams beating up on worse teams, which gave them their national rankings. He even went as far as to say the Big Ten sucks.

I wonder how he feels now less than 24 hours after making the statement that those teams are just bad teams beating up on worse teams. Wisconsin beat the beloved SEC in their bowl game, and MSU just beat the #5 team in the country.

Obviously there are still more games to be played, but I don't think there is any question that the PAC 12 was the best conference in the country this year.

My rankings go like this (without knowing how the playoffs end up):

1. Pac 12
2. SEC
3. Big Ten
4. Big 12
5. ACC

Big 12 and ACC are interchangeable in my opinion. Both have the top end talent in the 1 and 2 spots (as does every conference), but are pretty weak the rest of the way down.

Outside of Oregon, is there really that good of a team? Not saying they aren't #1. But I think you can make an argument for any order 1-5

In my opinion, the PAC 12 is very deep. Oregon is very good. Arizona, UCLA, Arizona State, and USC all beat each other up on the south side of division and are all very good teams. And the bowl success they've had this year puts them over the top. After they win the Rose Bowl, they'll be 5-1. **fingers crossed**

Obviously it's just my opinion, but that's how i look at it.

Did anybody hear the "SEC" chants on the TV today for the Gopher game? I found it kind of weird, I cant envision going to something like a Wisconsin bowl game, and chanting with other Gopher fans..."Big Ten!" "Big Ten!" Although, I guess it would be kind of fun to sarcastically chant "SEC!" at that one.

I never really understood the cheering for your conference in non-conference games, or bowl games. As I once heard, bragging about how good your conference is, is like bragging that your cousin has a big dick. I'm kind of starting to get it now, especially after I heard that guy on the radio completely knock the Big Ten (story a couple posts above), but truthfully, I'd much rather watch the rivals like Wisconsin and Iowa (when they are in bowl games), lose. That said, I do usually cheer for the other Big teams, but probably more because I am just more familiar with them, not necessarily because I care that the conference does well.

It's easy...your conference is like your extended family. Sure we all have some relatives that we can't stand (drunk Uncle Bucky, pompous cousin Brutus) but they are still our kin, united by a century of academic and athletic bonds. We share a common culture and brand. Go Big Ten...although if cousin Herky falls on his face tomorrow we'll still get a good laugh out of it.

I get cheering for them, but not pounding your chest because of the success of other teams. That is what some SEC fans do. Unless you're a Alabama, LSU, Florida, or Auburn fan, your team hasn't won a championship so stop acting like you're the best because of the successes of others.

Conference looks good, but 5-3 with no wins against a bowl game winning team unless Iowa wins.

I have heard SEC chants at nearly every SEC bowl victory. I always cheer for B1G in bowls and non con games and always will. Really get sick of ESPN and all the B1G bashing.

After yesterday, there shouldn't be any B1G bashing. They cleaned up on three different ranked teams (with 2 in the top 5) teams. You can't argue that fact. In retrospect, our efforts against TCU and Ohio St don't look all that bad.
