The Golden Gophers are going to have an interesting edge on Saturday against the Unversity of Louisville.

Louisville plays Ole Miss tonight in the second game at the US BANK Arena in Cincinnati finishing the game around 11:30 pm. Their flight to Phoenix departs at 1am and they arrive around 5 am Cardinal TIME in Phoenix. The Cardinals play two games in 41 hours 1600 miles apart.

The game is on ESPN and the key is to see if Ole Miss (17 point underdog) can take any flight out of the Cardinals.

The Cardinals only play four guards and three big men for a total of 7 during most of the game, tonight if Ole Miss doesn't allow the bench to get very many minutes it could be a winning factor for the Gophers. The match up is aquite interesting.

Well, this isn't a good way for Ole' Miss to get started !

Former University of Cincinnati head basketball coach Andy Kennedy, now head coach at Mississippi, was arrested this morning on a charge of assault, accused of attacking a taxi driver and hurling racial slurs at the man, according to police and court records.

Coach is drunk and arrested.

Sad.

Unbelievable

Wow, that's all I can say. No matter what the truth is here, it seems pretty obvious that Kennedy and Armstrong were hammered the night before a pretty big game. Obviously neither are playing on the court, and perhaps they weather their hangovers better than I do, but I don't think this is the sort of preparation Ole Miss deserves from its head coach.

Ironic that Kennedy was favored by a lot of fans and boosters to replace Huggins at Cincinnati. One of the factors in Huggins being asked to leave Cincinnati was his DWI a short while before.

This might equalize the fact that the Gophers are coming off a week of finals and therefore a random practice schedule at best. Not an easy thing for either team prior to Saturday's game. To quote Bleed Gopher: Go Gophers!

I'm laughing my *ss off about this whole thread.

At least he had more sense than Huggins, he decided to take a cab...

Ole Miss made them work

Last night it appeared Ole Miss was just another poor team until they kicked it in gear. They did exactly what we wanted. Louisville could use the low part of the bench last night, for us that is good. Minnesota upsets Louisville by 6. By the way Louisville's win last night was the first win in seven games on a neutral court, I like those odds too.

Williams and Cook are men playing with boys, our boys will become men tomorrow.

You read it here first.

It is not often that you can blow your own horn. Ole Miss took something out of Louisville and Tubby and his staff prepared the Gophers extremely well.

Gophers by 6.

Moving on.

Tubby and his staff have developed a basketball team that is going to make the BARN ROCK.
For you fans that remember the Haskins days....baby they are back and then some.
