40 former Gopher football players met with incoming Gopher football freshmen today

It all began at 7 a.m. this morning.

That is when the incoming freshman class gathered at Gibson-Nagurski Football Complex to meet with nearly 40 former Gopher football players. The Minnesota alums told the new players what it meant to be a Gopher and how playing at Minnesota helped shape their lives inside and outside of football.

The group of alumni then taught the newest members of the Gopher football team how to sing the Minnesota Rouser, which the freshmen did before heading to class for the first time.

The newest Gophers will spend the rest of their morning in class before heading back to the football facility for individual physicals. They will begin workouts tomorrow.

"With the exception of one player, Miami Central High defensive lineman Jordan Hinojosa, the entire recruiting class has graduated from high school with the necessary academic credentials and enrolled at Minnesota, according to Kill. Hinojosa's status is still to be determined; he could be here in the fall, or possibly enroll at a junior college for a season."

I don't know if this has been touched on, but let's hope he gets here.
