That's how it often goes. Good to get completey thumped like Miami did so it eats away at you for months and makes you want to prove yourself the next year. Case in point, the 1996 Gophers and how they got slapped by Tulane in the NIT.

Had the gophers switched spots with Wisconsin (a path we were on before the collapse, and a spot many felt was very achievable for this team) it would not be inconceivable to think we would have had a great shot at beating ole miss, la salle, and would be facing witchita state for a bid to the elite eight....
