I'm currently at work following the Cornell game on ESPN, and was at work when we lost to Virginia. Currently, Cornell is 5-10 from 3pt range. So here's the question. How come our 3pt defense is so bad? I haven't been able to watch many games this year, and I want an answer that actually contributes to the conversation (NOT "because Hoffarber isn't athletic" or something dumb like that).

I'm sure this topic has been discussed a lot around here lately, but I was just kinda curious why we are struggling to defend the 3.

EDIT - Just saw goldenboy's poll. Mods can delete this thread if they want.

Cornell has made a few threes NBA teams wouldn't even step out on they were so deep. Gophers were playing poorly on D though too, and now have improved it looks like. Devoe has stepped up his ball pressure.

It's time Tubby develops a 1-3-1 zone to take away the easy 3s and take the chance that bad (i.e., only able to win by burying 3's) teams beat us inside, instead of letting them keep their only strength - shooting 3s. Soooo tired of this.
