2024-25 Wild Season

I had Canes in 7 as well. Going to stand by it but am less confident than I was 24 hours ago.

I see Dallas having their way with Edmonton but hope I am proven wrong.

I hate Dallas, for all the obvious North Star reasons and beyond, but I can't stand that whiny b*tch McJesus and the Oilers. Gotta pull for the Stars here

Got the Stars in 6. This game has already been 10 times better than last nights

Stars down 3-1 to start the third and they proceed to score the next 5 and win 6-3

Oilers Skinner with his third shutout of these playoffs. If it’s not a shutout it’s a 5 plus goals a game allowed. Crazy

Also the fourth time the Stars have been shutout this post season

Skinner makes absolutely no sense but it is fascinating to follow.

I thought Dallas would take it to Edmonton. So far I am not looking wise there. Other than a completely disastrous 3rd period in game one the Oilers look like the better team so far.

Needless to say I won’t be getting into the handicapping business anytime soon.

this one all comes down to the goaltending matchup. think they're both deep, have stars who will make plays, and play solid defense first hockey. I'd give the edge to FL as Bob is more capable of stealing a game than Skinner, but something about this Edmonton team feels a bit like destiny. First 2 games are key for Florida to get one, as Edmonton only gets better as the series goes on (18-2 now the last 2 years in game 4 and beyond with not a single loss yet this year)

Despite Ogie's huge man crush on McDavid, I'm going with FL in six (6) games although rooting for the Oilers. Marchand is on a mission.

  • The Oilers top line is better than Florida's top line.
  • Florida's 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines are better than the Oiler's 2nd, 3rd and 4th lines (but not by a lot)
  • Florida's goalie is better than the Oiler's goalie (I think by quite a bit)
  • I'd really like to see the Oiler's win it this year, but I'm going with Florida winning it at home in the 6th game.

I wouldn't have minded a Canadian team winning it this year; just not Edmonton. I was kinda hoping Toronto of all teams would make a run.

Really, really hard to go against Bobrovsky and the Panthers. Edmonton losing Hyman the other day for the rest of the playoffs isn't going to make their road to the Cup any easier either.

I’m going to predict Florida in 7, though I’m not sure why everyone is so in admiration of Bob, he had the 16th best save % in the league this year and his career playoff numbers aren’t anything special.

I think Florida’s depth + the Hyman injury make the difference here.

The Hyman injury is a big one. He was a human sledgehammer out there with his 100 plus hits these playoffs. Still sticking with Oil in 7
