@ DePaul (back end of home & home, also possibly part of Gavitt Games)
Gavitt Games (home game?)
We can afford to carry a tougher schedule if our team is better but it makes no sense to schedule a bunch of tough games if we are just going to get blown out. I would be in favor for an easier non-conference schedule until they can get this group some confidence and go on from there.I wonder if he will schedule differently next year. I think we all applauded his schedule this year, but it led to some early losses. By the time we got around to the first Big Ten game we had people screaming Year Seven! I wonder if he would be better served winning a few games early to hold off the negative speculation.
I would be shocked if we dont have cupcakes out the wazoo this year. You know Pitino is going to want to get that record nice so he can say how awesome he is. Look at are 12-2! I mean SOS is 338 but who cares we are great this year.
So basically we have the ACC game and maybe Marquette. He's got to add at least a couple to that.No return game for DePaul. It was a straight one-off to be played at Williams. Not a home-and-home.
Our year to be out of Gavitt.
1 random opponent at Target Center
I’d guess 7 home, 3 neutral, 1 road next season.
Home (7)
2 for Air Force Reserve tourney
1 start of home & home with decent opponent
4 cupcakes
Neutral (3)
2 of Marquette/Rhode Island/UCF
1 random opponent at Target Center
Road (1)
ACC Challenge
Just curious why these specific ones?2 of Marquette/Rhode Island/UCF
Just a guess. Target Center hosts Midwest Regional next year. Perhaps have a game there as a dry run for the folks running the regional. What’s the thinking behind this? Just curious if you’ve heard something in the works about this or if just a guess. I know we’ve had those neutral games in Sioux Falls and that one at US Bank as a warm up for the FF.
Target Center could be fun for a game!
4-team bracketed tourney preceded by 1 or 2 home games, presumably cupcakes. What's the Air Force Reserve Tourney? One of those non bracketed exempt events? Does it give us a neutral site game or two against decent opponent?
I know I'm in the minority, but if we can avoid Marquette, I would. We should not give Garcia a chance to showcase his talents for another team when we recruited him hard.
Field has already been announced.Just curious why these specific ones?

That would be awesome to see the NCAAs come to MN for a regional. I'd prefer Target Center to US Bank as a fan but I doubt the NCAA or MN reps would go that route.SS, do most regional finals get played in arenas now? For awhile there, stadiums were getting some too. Wondering why not US bank?

I know they just had the Final 4 here but a lot easier to get tickets to regionals.
I believe so. Only Final 4s at the monster arenas now. Good move by the NCAA.SS, do most regional finals get played in arenas now? For awhile there, stadiums were getting some too. Wondering why not US bank?

I think that the priority is actually determined by Gopher Loyalty Score rather than by season ticket status. You get your wish. Target Center hosting Midwest Regional, March 25 & 27, 2021.
Past protocol is Gopher season-ticket holders get first crack at purchasing tickets to 1st/2nd round & regionals hosted by the U of M.
Awesome. Hopefully somebody posts in here as soon as they come available. I'll be looking out for them. I'm not a season-ticket holder. You get your wish. Target Center hosting Midwest Regional, March 25 & 27, 2021.

Well I'm a dummy! ThanksField has already been announced.
Would Gophers not be allowed to play in that one if they made the tourny. Can't remember the rules. You get your wish. Target Center hosting Midwest Regional, March 25 & 27, 2021.
You can't play in a region where you are the host. In the past at the Dome, the U has been the host so wouldn't be able to play there. I would guess that's the case at Target Center as well.Would Gophers not be allowed to play in that one if they made the tourny. Can't remember the rules.
But St Thomas could, if they were in DI, eligible, and won the Summit League? Or any of the Dakota schools, for that matter. You can't play in a region where you are the host. Yes. In the future, St. Thomas (or the Summit League) could also act as host, then the U would be eligible to play locally. That's how the North Carolina schools can play in Greensboro seemingly every year. But St Thomas could, if they were in DI, eligible, and won the Summit League? Or any of the Dakota schools, for that matter.
I guess I already know the answer to that question, as NDSU played at the Humpty Dome I think in 2009.
