This SOS is based purely off of last year's win/loss records of the teams on the schedules. As someone pointed out in the comments, playing Georgia would have the same effect on SOS as playing Louisiana Lafayette because they both won 9 games.

Also it looks like Iowa and Wisconsin are the only two teams in the Big Ten whose 2015 slate of opponents collectively lost more games than they won in 2014.
