Some thoughts

mortell is elite

The offense is painful to watch. I swear I just watched a 20 play 28 yard drive that ended in a punt...not that it’s bad...it’s just odd

Kill > Brewster in every way... but honestly the best way is uniforms. We are in a golden era of gopher football uniforms under fleck and kill. Great color schemes.

defense is really good but it is hard to enjoy them because they’re never on the field

Brooks and Smith Junior have been in the program forever

Up 6 in the 4th quarter on the CmU 45

3rd and 6 throw a 4.5 yard hitch.
4th and 2 throw behind the LOS and get stopped short

I can’t help but watch this game and think D Douglas and C autman Bell would be the best 2015 wideouts.

smith and brooks would still be the best running backs LOL

People think about the PSU game sealing interception of the beginning of the end of gopher collapses.

but started with the Nebraska yoink in Lincoln and the B Calhoun interception to seal this game

Showed this stat while showing Jerry Kill

exiting the 2015 quick lane bowl:
26-23 last 49 games (53%)
49 games before that 18-31 (37%)

I would add in the 51 games after the quick lane bowl 32-19 (63%)

The quick lane bowl win may have been the beginning of the turnaround. Before that game the last bowl game win had been in 2004

Leidballs was gonna take us to the next level!
I remember going into 2016 I had high hopes for him. Don’t know why?

he couldn’t get the ball out on time. To me indicating he is either not that smart of a quarterback (I don’t think this is the case) or the game is too fast for him (I think this is the case).

I think I probably saw mcshay’s mock draft and dismissed it but thought if McShay thinks he is a first rounder he should be at least in contention for 3rd team all conference next year.

Drew Wolitarski dropped a sure long TD pass in that CMU game, but he was pretty solid and productive for two years. Maybe DD and CAB will surpass him, but he was very productive.

I’ve said it before.
KJ Maye and Wolitarski were both really productive wideouts. But I’m not sold on either of them as really good college wideouts

It was great seeing Mortell have a great final game as a college player. Same with Boddy-Calhoun and Murray. Wasn't the year a lot of us hoped but those players put in the work that year. Seeing them end the year with a win at least and get a silver lining was nice.

The season would’ve seemed a lot better at 6-6 with a bowl win than 5-7 with a bowl win...but they lost some close games and went through some chaos mid stream. Must have good character to hold it together

Was 2016 the nyd bowl? That was pretty nice. I saw a good Jerry kill offense one time - when he coached niu here and chad spann smoked us.

2014 was Citrus Bowl (on New Years Day) vs Missouri
2015 was Quck Lane Bowl vs Central Michigan
2016 was Holiday Bowl vs Washington State

When Philip Nelson went and quit on the gophs it was selfishly to inflict pain on the program. It worked.
