Boston College, Creighton, Minnesota, and Wisconsin have all expressed early interest in Noskowiak. The sophomore guard will head to Minneapolis this Sunday for his first look at the Gophers.

“Coach Tubby Smith went to a couple of my games over the summer,” Noskowiak explained. “Coach (Rob) Jirsa came to the first Madison Memorial game earlier this year. My dad has talked to him on the phone a couple times. I’d say we have a pretty alright relationship.

“I’m looking forward to seeing how they do things up there. I’ve never been to a Minnesota game. I’m looking forward to the game. I like the way Minnesota plays. They play hard and find a way to win a lot of games.”

Go Gophers!!

Any chance this is a sign the writing is on the wall in terms of getting Tyus? A couple point guards is better than one, though.

Doubt it. Hopefully, Tubby just has recognized the mistake it was to only pursue CoJo a few years back, leaving us to scramble when we didn't get him.

I am not certain of the timeline, but I am pretty sure the point guard fiasco was not about "CoJo" but about Cobbs quitting in the spring. As much as Tubby's recruiting is bashed, a pile of facts get merged together to create a scenario favorable to one's argument rather than what may have actually happened. In my reading of history, the most devestating move in the program in the last five years was Cobbs' departure. They not only lost a good player, but they lost depth at a critical position that turned out to kill two seasons in a row when we had point guard availability issues. Mav was a spring response to Cobbs' leaving not missing out on the big time recruit.

I wouldn't take it that way. Noskowiak is a class behind Tyus and is not a true PG. I think he will be able to play either guard spot at the next level. Nick is a pretty nice prospect - solid ball-handler, really nice mid-range game and pretty good athlete. Still needs some development on his overall game, but he looks to have a good amount of potential. UW has been out to see him a couple times this season, and I hope they offer relatively soon.

Beat me to it. Tyus is 2014. Whether Tyus comes here or not we need to recruit a point guard in 2015.

"Interesting" how often Minnesota offers/expresses interest in teammates of other targets (i.e., Nick Fuller in this case).

Sun Prairie is kind of my second hometown, my dad is from there, I work there, and am from a neighboring town. I have a friend who has seen SP play a couple of times this year and when we were looking at Nick Fuller I remember asking him how Fuller looked. He ended up talking more about this Noskwiak kid more, he said often times he looks to be a better prospect than Fuller. Even though we probably won't end up with him, I love that Tubby is going into Wisconsin's backyard for talent, just as Marquette has done.

Hmmm. Might be right.
