2015 Gopher Schedule

“Recruiting-wise, building-your-program-wise, you play a difficult schedule, it challenges you, I don’t think there’s any question,” Gophers coach Jerry Kill said. “You either accept it and step up to the challenge, or you don’t.”

Kill advocated for the North Carolina decision, figuring it was better to be cautious early in a rebuilding process.

“I learned from [fellow coaches] Bill Snyder and Dennis Franchione, when you’re trying to get your team confidence and wins and things, you’ve got to be careful in what you do in the scheduling piece,” Kill said.

But Kill’s program will be in Year 4 by 2014. He said his staff can now sell the schedule as another reason to come to Minnesota.

“Hey, we’ll play anyone,” he said.

Go Gophers!!

Kill certainly made it very clear yesterday talking to Justin Gaard on 100.3 FM that it wasn't his decision to schedule the home and home with TCU. He basically said it was an administration decision. My translation/impression of what Kill said was that he didn't want the series, and that the decision came from Teague, who I'd surmise likely took to heart B1G Commish Jim Delany's feelings on the importance of upgrading nonconference schedules as we enter the 4-team playoff era.

Bottom line from my perspective: playing a home-and-home with TCU = good. Good for season-ticket holders, good for Gophers, good for TCU, and good for other B1G teams. SOS is likely to be a key component in selecting the 4 playoff teams, so the stronger nonconference schedules ALL B1G teams play the more benefit it brings to a conference trying to earn 1 or 2 of those precious bids.

Does anyone know if we are still scheduled to play Colorado in the future and what year, not Colorado State, UC - Boulder.

I checked the future schedules and didn't see it listed.

My brother went to UC- Boulder so that trip is on my bucket list.

when do we get to see Maryland or Rutgers?! jaysus..

Or Indiana. The earliest that they make their first ever trip to TCF is in it's 8th year as our home field.

And I think even before the 2015 schedules were released, it was announced that it would just be flipping the home/away games in conference, so if you knew that, it's not surprising that we don't play Maryland or Rutgers (or Indiana) in 2015.
