2013 Recruiting Primer - Offense

If I recall correctly, that's what everybody was saying at the beginning of this
year and we may end up with 28 or 29. Isn't that middle linebacker from
Kansas visiting pretty soon?

I agree Heffelinger, it is kind of too soon to accurately predict the amount of scholarships that we'll have.

It all depends on your definition of is. Sorry, I mean your definition of accurately. I wouldn't be uncomfortable in saying that the range within two standard deviations would be 10 to 16.

Get off the booze killboy. Get out of the closet with those problems that you are hiding in that closet with.... First that killboy took a drink...then that killboy's drink took a drink...then that killboy's drink took that killboy...bottoms up killboy... that closet just isn't big enough for you and that drink killboy...

All that boozing that you do will do you in killboy...and you don't have a clue about standard...or...non-standard. You DO know a LOT about deviations though, don't you killboy?

Don't bother to try to go there again...killboy...

This pretty much sums up every post from Wren:

Bump. updates from kids visting and such?

Heres a tweet from Union HS (iowa) Athlete Trev Hadachek: "Minnesota is a sweet school, coaches were awesome too! And their stadium is sickkkkkk! #goodday #gophers"

QB Alton Meeks from Orlando will be here for a visit. Nice offer list, including Florida St. and MSU.

It is important to note, too, that this is an unofficial visit, meaning that he (and/or family) will be paying his own way to come up here. (Officials cannot be taken until the prospect is in their Sr. year of HS.) If he is coming all the way to MN on his own dime from FL, he is at least semi-serious about coming here. On that basis alone, I would imagine that we have to be in his top 3-5 schools.

I would say that, more than likely, you are right. Unofficials can be goofy though. Who knows if he is solely making this trip to visit the U or if his family is going to be in town for a wedding and he is going to visit while he is here. Assuming the first scenario could be mis-leading of his intentions, even though I would say that it is more likely than not.

I'm just really glad the poop gif is back on top of the page.

I especially like when it hits the wall between the two staff members.

First look at the 2013 recruiting needs. Unless there are a significant amount of departures, we're probably looking at only signing 5-6 offensive players for 2013, and about 15 total.

That was a good read, thanks for posting.

The only issue I have with the analysis is that I think the Gophers are going to need to try to find a B1G time TE prospect. There is way more obvious depth in the other positions than there is at TE and Kill's offense has made excellent use of this position in the past few places he has been.

Maxx Williams is a kid who can hopefully fill that role when he steps on campus. He was pretty heralded coming out of HS. Played well in Marine All-Star game, I believe caught a touchdown in the game.
