The Vikings were uber talented with Keith Millard, Chris Doleman, Joey Browner, Carl Lee and Anthony Carter making the pro bowl. But the Vikings lost their regular season finale to the Redskins when they let Doug Williams scramble his way to a game winning drive late. I remember the post game comments from Millard after the game where he was so mad, he said "I don't care if we get in the playoffs...we don't deserve it because we had a chance to take care of business and we blew it...if we do, ho ho ho" - Later that afternoon, the Vikings clinched a playoff spot when the Cardinals lost. Somehow backing into the playoffs galvonized the team and they won two playoff games and nearly upset the Skins to make the Super Bowl.

I'm wondering if the talented Gophers might be able to do something similar?

I think anything is possible with this team. We've lost some games very badly, but we've beaten some very good teams as well. I wouldn't be surprised by just about anything at this point.

With the REAL players, the '87 Vikings were 8-4 in the regular season. The replacement players were 0-3.

I don't see the comparison.

Both talented teams who most observers felt like underperformed in the regular season and "backed in" to the post season. You can't see any similarities at all?

If anything it would be more like the '97 vikings who started 8-2, lost five in a row and beat a one win colts team in its finale to clinch a playoff spot, before beating the giants in the wild card round

All the Giants fans I know up here in Philly still whine about that game...

I was amazed to see that Memphis was 30 and 4!!!!
