Less than 3 weeks to go! A quick tool for those of you who spend your Saturdays glued to a TV, the full 2012 tv schedule: http://www.lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm

It will be updated as more dates/broadcasters are announced, but I've found it's helpful in planning your college football Saturdays. Gotta love getting up for that 8am ND-Navy kickoff on the 1st :)

Here's what the Gophers have so far:

Minnesota at UNLV 10:00 p.m. CBSSN (HD)
New Hampshire at Minnesota 11:00 a.m. BTN (HD) / btn2go.com
Western Michigan at Minnesota 11:00 a.m. BTN (HD) / btn2go.com
Syracuse at Minnesota 7:00 p.m. BTN (HD) / btn2go.com
Minnesota at Iowa 11:00 a.m. (BTN, ESPN, or ESPN2) (HD)
Northwestern at Minnesota 11:00 a.m. (BTN, ESPN, or ESPN2) (HD)
All other games TBD

Don't be so cynical, you'll get at least 2 and a half hours of "afternoon" football for every one of those 11:00 games..

Can someone clarify CBS Sports Network? I assume this isn't regular CBS? I'll have to double check but don't think I have this. May have to head to the bar to watch it. 10pm kickoff...I haven't stayed til last call on a Thursday night since college.

What is your provider? I have DirecTV and I believe CBSSN is channel 252.

If you have Xfinity it only comes on the sports package (add'l $7 a month where I am). Yes, it's an entirely different network than CBS. Basically it's the Tim Brando show for 8 hours a day and then some obscure sports in the evenings.

On Charter it's and additional package of other garbage sports channels.......$5 extra per month.

I was reading somewhere recently that Americans spend an average of $83 per month for TV. They project by 2015 it will be $123 per month. Only guessing, but I have to believe sports events on these obscure channels has to be part of it. See AXS for Battle of Atlantis BB.

It's on 158 on the Dish Network. It's apparently available on the $19.99 per month package. That package though doesn't include the BTN. That's in the Top 200 along with the Fox Sports North, ESPN channels, NBA TV,NFL Network, Speed, Golf Channel, NHL and the Major League Baseball.

I'm sure 252 is your favorite channel...that's Lifetime.

[geez...it looks like I'm trying to beat you up on this thread, but I'm sure you know it's all in good fun].

For anyone who has cable but doesn't have it in their current tier and who would prefer to watch at home just add on the sports package that includes it and then cancel it after the game. It'll cost you about $10 total (depending on if your provider charges you a fee for dropping a package) which is essentially 2 beers plus tip at a bar.

I've done this before with Charter for a Gopher game on ESPNU. The tier package was $5 which is pro-rated by the day, comes to about 17 cents per day.

I believe it is $1.95 to hook up and the same to cancel. End result, a little over $4 to get the game. Not that bad but still a nuisance.

No doubt. Just wanted to make sure that anyone who was pondering the bars knew there were other options if they truly wanted to watch it at home.

Also a random note...I'm a AT&T UVerse customer who will need to add the sports package to get CBS College Sports. It looks like right now the first month is free. So if you are a UVerse customer it seems like you'll be able to add the package and drop it at no cost. Go online to confirm if that promo is available in your area.
