B1G Teams Not Yet in an Exempt Tournament -- Michigan State, Nebraska

The Hall of Fame Tipoff field is looking weaker by the day :)

I like the Buckeyes' chances in that one, even without Sullinger. Pretty huge hit Washington has taken in the last week.

Great Alaska Shootout tourney bracket; SDSU & NDSU in exempt tourneys

Not a great field for the Great Alaska Shootout -- the nation's longest running regular-season college basketball tournament -- but the GAS makes a little bit of a bounceback with the CBS Sports Network televising 7 games live. A true hoops junkie can welcome Thanksgiving break late Wednesday night (Nov. 21) with a quarterfinal doubleheader, Northeastern vs. UC-Riverside (10:30 p.m.) followed by host Alaska-Anchorage vs. tournament favorite Belmont (1 a.m.).

The early call here says we'll see a Belmont-Loyola Marymount title game.

Other exempt tourney tidbits. ...

Regionally, Summit League favorite South Dakota State will play in the 2K Sports Classic. Look for the Jackrabbits to play @ Purdue in a preliminary-round game before joining (and perhaps hosting) Bucknell, Hofstra and Niagara in a 4-team round-robin.

North Dakota State (a CBI participant in 2012) is playing in the Legends Classic. Don't be surprised if the Bison draw likely preseason #1 Indiana (in Bloomington) in a preliminary-round game.
