Anyone wanna make a guess at the 2010 starters? I have a feeling we're looking at a 4 win season, in which we may as well cut our losses sooner rather than later.

QB- Gray or Weber (Hopefully Gray)
HB- Whaley
FB- Hoese
TE- Lair
WR-Green
WR-Mcknight
WR-Stoudermire
LT-Alford
LG- Bunders
C- Davis
RG- Carufel
RT- Wills

LE- Jacobs
DT- Kirksey
NT- Edwards
RE- Rotation of Wilhite, GregoryMghee, and Garin
WLB- Cooper
MLB- Tinsley & Maresh rotate
SLB- Reeves
CB- Carter
FS- Royston
SS- Theret
CB- Collado

The secondary, IMO, is where we could see some change with Royston, Collado, and the incomng players having their next years positions be more flexible. Royston could be a corner, collado could be a safety, we have the recruits coming in, including a juco. Im pretty sure every where else on Defense. Offensive line, they always flip positions around. HB will still be rotating, but I thing whaley will be the lead back. Who ever plays QB must improve from this year.

I think 6 wins is still possible next year.

Brewster Backers

Brewster backers were saying they can't wait to get rid of all these Mason players on defense. Next year reality will hit them in the face when they see how brutal our defense is. Next year we will be pretty bad. 4 maybe 5 wins at most.

I think you may be in for a bit of an awakening, when you see their isn't any drop off. Not saying there will be improvement, but i think Cooper can be as good as Lawrence, Carter may be better than simmons, and Edwards/Kirksey have much more upside and talent than Brown and small.

I think we will have the same problems next year. Too many penalties and not getting off the field on third down.

We will be improved in nearly every position next year because the 2nd stringers are better and have more upside than the current starters.

I agree with most of your starters but the o Line will be different with Gjere and Henderson starting and maybe some RsFreshmen

I know people would start getting optimistic about the D next year. Before the season starts, people will think we'll be the best in the Big Ten.

Yes we lose 9 senior starters but the only player I see us really missing next year is Campbell. Simmons did not play today and Triplett missed most of the game. Our three highest impact players today, Collado, Tinsley and Royston, are all back next year. Throw in Cooper/Carter/Kirksey/Edwards who have shown some nice flashes this year, add in Reeves/Maresh/Hageman/Garin and the rest of the current redshirt and I don't think there will be much of a drop off. Yes we will probably get thumped badly against USC, but as the year goes on next years young D (only 3 seniors) will have the potential to be as good or better than this one.

Even though I think Brewster has done miserably in most aspects of his job you can't deny he is increasing the talent.

Looking at the rosters posted thus far, I would have to agree. It doesn't look that bad. We have some real talent returning.

We'll miss Small and Brown alot. They are both solid in the middle.

Way better chance Henderson goes to Iowa, which will frustrate many ... Henderson is not coming here ... Hear great things about Gjere, but will he redshirt like many, many O-linemen?

Keep telling yourself this :cool02:

Next year could be absolutely atrocious. They will likely be favored in only one B10 game (NU at home).

Home games:
NU - win
OSU - yeah right
PSU - no way
Iowa - nope

Road games:
Purdue - loss
Becky - no chance
Illinois - probably not
MSU - another loss

With the talent the Gophers are developing there should be no chance that Collado starts at corner next year. Hats off to him for a good game today, but Corner is the 3rd most important position in college football. That's where you put your jock athletes. When I see Collado I am always reminded of Trumaine Banks in man coverage. He MIGHT be able to play safety, but I will be much more confident in the Gophers next fall if Collado goes into the season as the nickle or dime back at best.

I also am truly hoping Gjere walks in and convincingly wins a starting job. And of course, Seantrel would complete the successful revamping of the Gopher offensive line.

Compared to here = YES ... the hoops thing is appealing to him in Iowa City ... and the 2 Cretin kids at Iowa have told him a lot of good things ... still would bet on USC or Florida in the end though.
